Porsche collectors of Columbus, rejoice! The 2016 Porsche 911 is expected to make its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show, taking place from September 17-27, and hit American roads shortly thereafter. This year's model will add a turbocharged engine that reaches new heights of horsepower, as well as tweaking the steering and suspension. In updating the engine, Porsche has also created optimizations that boost fuel economy and decrease engine noise, so drivers in Westerville can open up the throttle without waking up their neighbors. With so many improvements coming down the pike, this is an exciting time to be a Porsche driver, and at Byers Porsche, we can't wait to feature the new Porsche 911 in our showroom.

2016 Porsche 911 Details

This year's Porsche 911 will come in several trims, starting with the Carrera, Carrera S, and Carrera GTS. At the top end, there's the Turbo, Turbo S, and the GT3. There's a variety of roof options as well - the standard coupe, a coupe with a retractable roof, and a convertible. The two lower Carrera trims will now feature a 3.0-liter flat-six engine, and with turbocharging, these models will achieve 370 and 420 horsepower respectively. These trims will offer an eight-speed manual transmission, and changes to the torque band are expected to make shifting gears easier and a bit more intuitive. All-wheel steering will now propagate to every trim, and the steering wheel itself has been modified to incorporate controls to adjust the vehicle's mechanical properties, such as the transmission, suspension, and engine responsiveness. While the sports car's iconic profile remains unchanged for the most part, revised headlamps, running lights, and a new engine grille will all add to the exterior look.

2016 Porsche 911 Safety and Special Features

The 2016 Porsche 911 is expected to build on safety features incorporated into the 2015 Porsche 911. A combination of antilock brakes, traction control, and airbags will protect the driver on every variant. Additionally, it looks as though some advanced safety features that were previously optional will now become standard. Adaptive cruise control, lane tracking, and a collision avoidance system will work together to keep Westerville Porsche drivers and their automobiles out of harm's way. Concordantly, the 2016 Porsche 911 will also include expanded infotainment systems. A larger touchscreen will make an appearance, featuring a more user-friendly interface with sharper graphics and an improved navigation system.
